Stanislaus Augustus 6 Zlotych (Taler) 1794, KM216, Dav-1623, Gum-2399, MS66 PCGS. A singular example of this issue, certainly among the finest extant. The fields are bright with cartwheeling luster and free of distracting abrasions, with a touch of light tone in the vicinity of the bust. A couple of tiny planchet imperfections are noted but are mercifully few and smaller than normally seen in relation to this type. The devices are needle-sharp beneath full, frosty luster providing a dramatic cameo contrast with the fields. This specimen was certainly struck from fresh dies and has been carefully maintained by generations of numismatists. Krause catalog price(s) for this item: $20 in VF, $265 in EF.
