Danzig. Ludovica Carolina Radziwill silver Medal 1675,  Danzig mint, HCz-4105var., Racz-248var., AU. 42.5mm/22.68 gm. By John Hoehn Jr. Obv. Ludovica Carolina facing right. Rev. Baby eagle nested in tree with parent flying toward radiant sun; Radziwill arms lean against tree with Birse castle set on water in background. Struck to commemorate the 8th birthday Princess Radziwill. The finest example of this medal that we have been able to find with Ludovica's hair rising to completeness and much originality remaining in the reflective fields. Light tone sits at the legends. An example struck with a different reverse die, and not nearly as nice as the present, hammered at 9500 PLN (approximately $3,000 hammer at current exchange) in an European auction in June of 2013.

Estimate: 3000-4000 USD
