J. McK & Son, Greenock, 4 Shillings & 6 Pence (1811), KM-CC57, M-58, host coin VF25, c/s XF Details PCGS, a neatly applied, sharply detailed, circular counter-mark, or stamp, sunk slightly off center on the obverse of an 1808 8 Reales of Carlos IV made at Postosi, both the c/s and the host coin having medium golden gray toning. Almost nothing is known about this issuer, once listed as a member of the Edinburgh goldsmiths guild but with no details; clearly, it was one of a number of "works" in the busy city of Greenock, located in Renfrewshire, northwest of Glasgow. Very scarce.
