THRACE. Mesambria. Ca. 280-225 BC. AR tetradrachm (32mm, 16.67 gm, 1h). NGC Choice XF 5/5 - 2/5, brushed. Posthumous issue in the name and types of Alexander III the Great, ca. 250-175 BC. Head of Heracles right, wearing lion-skin headdress, paws tied before neck / BAΣIΛEΩΣ / AΛEΞANΔPOY, Zeus seated left on backless throne, right leg drawn back, feet on ground line, eagle in right hand, scepter in left; Corinthian helmet right in left field, KAPT monogram below throne.
