Serial Number 212 France Banque de France 100 Francs 2.1.1908 Pick 69 PMG About Uncirculated 50 EPQ. Incredible designs, paper quality, and ink are seen on this 100 Francs of 1908. This offering is the single finest graded example of a mere 11 that are included in the PMG Population Report. Claude Fayette's definitive catalogue, Les billets de la Banque de France et du Tresor, states the following about this variety: "This note is sought after, even in VG and F grades, increasingly rare in VF, has almost disappeared in XF and practically non-existent in Uncirculated condition". Scarce in this elite grade and seen with the first prefix and a small serial number. Fayette's book further mentions about the note on offer today "The A1 212 example achieved the record price of €6,500 in the Pernoud collection sale of 2001".
