Israel Bank Leumi Le-Israel B.M. 1 Pound ND (1952) Pick 20s Specimen PMG Choice Uncirculated 63. The amazing work of the American Bank Note Co., is represented on this lovely Specimen. Before the Bank of Israel took over currency issuance, notes of Bank Leumi (previously the Anglo-Palestine Bank) were in circulation. It is one of the many colors experimented with during the production process, a color trial in form, and the ultimate color that was used on the final production notes issued in 1952. Rust has been lightened and two star-shaped POCs are seen on this high grade example with soft inks. Of interest, the usual Specimen stamps are devoid on this piece and and a small hand-written 25 color plate number is seen on the back.
