MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Alexander III the Great (336-323 BC). AR tetradrachm (17.18 gm). Lifetime or early posthumous issue of Damascus, ca. 330-320 BC. Head of young Heracles to right, wearing lion skin headdress / Zeus seated left on ornamental throne, holding scepter and eagle; to left, forepart of a ram springing right; two dots above and below throne support, ΛΑ in exergue. Price 3205 variant (dot placement). Obverse darkly toned, reverse lightly so. NCG AU 4/5 - 3/5.
