Æthelred II (978-1016) Penny c.1003-09, Winchester mint, probably Brunstan as moneyer, S-1152, North-775, AU Details (Peckmarked) NGC. + EÐELRED REX ΛN, helmeted and armored bust left / + BYR | VNS | ΛN M | Θ PIN, voided long cross with crescent ends over square with trefoil at each point. Lightly toned with sharply struck up center details and a slightly blundered moneyer's title. A few peckmarks are noted on each side.
