Carlos III Proclamation Medal - 1 Real 1760 Medina 70, Betts-461. Fine Details (Plugged). Obverse: young bust of Charles III facing right, with legend CAROLUS . III . D . G . HISPAN . ET . IND . REX . around. Reverse: Coat of arms of Santiago de los Caballeros de Guatemala (now Antigua Guatemala), with legend GUAT . IN . EIUS . PROCLAMATIONE . 1760 . around. The adjustment marks present on the reverse are an unmistakable evidence that these proclamations were produced to the same standard of the coinage, and could circulate, as many did, if so desired.
