Republic-Era 19th Century Commemorative silver Medal Quartet, Prober-330 and Prober Unlisted. Lot of four silver medals. Three different specimens all related to the inauguration in 1884 of the first Railway Locomotive in Guatemala by President Justo Rufino Barrios: the first (Prober 330) is the common one struck in 1884 for the inauguration itself. The other two are unlisted in Prober and commemorate the entrance of the Locomotive in the towns of San Felipe (1892) and Mazatenango (1899) respectively. Both are very scarce. The last item is a larger (2 Reales size) medal with the bust of Spanish Queen Isabel II to commemorate the recognition of Guatemala's Independence by Spain in 1864. It is also very scarce and was engraved by Frener. From The Isaac Rudman Collection of Guatemala Coins
