St. Eustatius. British Occupation "SE" Counterstamp Upon French Guiana 2 Sous No Date (1797), Vlack-416, KM1.1, VF details environmental damage NGC. The small island of St. Eustatius belonged to the Dutch as confirmed by the Treaty of Munster of 1648. In 1781, the British captured the island and countermarked these coins. Crude, yet quite rare. Provenance for the coin is included.
