LOKRIS. Lokris Opuntii. Circa 338-316 BC. Triobol or Hemidrachm (Silver, 14 mm, 2.69 g, 12 h). Head of Demeter to left, wearing wreath of wheat leaves, pearl necklace and earring. Rev. OΠONTIΩN Ajax, nude but for helmet, advancing right, holding short sword in his right hand and, with his left, a shield without symbol; on the ground behind, spear. BCD Lokris 68. Humphris & Delbridge 142 (O31/R52). Very rare with Demeter to left and no decoration on the shield. Graffito in the reverse field, otherwise, very fine.
