TROAS. Alexandreia. Circa 164-135 BC. (Bronze, 20 mm, 3.75 g, 12 h), heavily counter-marked in the 1st century BC, for re-use in Troas. Laureate head of Apollo facing, head turned slightly to right; three countermarks pushed agains field: 1. Lyre of Apollo in round incuse. 2. Head of Artemis in round incuse. 3. Mouse of Apollo Smintheus in round incuse. Rev. Lyre; below, countermark with a head of a horse to right . Bellinger p. 96, pl. 17, N (for countermarks). SNG Copenhagen 88 (for host coins). Countermarks extremely well preserved and clear. Very fine.
