Constans, 337-350. Centenionalis (Bronze, 24 mm, 4.93 g, 1 h), Thessalonica, 5th officina (E), 348-350. D N CONSTA-NS P F AVG Diademed, draped and cuirassed bust of Constans to right. Rev. FEL TEMP REPARATIO / TSE* Emperor, holding phoenix on globe and labarum, standing left on galley steered by Victory seated at stern. LRBC -. RIC -. Apparently unpublished. Very fine.

This type exists for the second group, first series (RIC 107-113) for both Constantius II and Constans with this bust type but with the mint mark TESA, and also with the emperor's bust depicted with a globe. No coins of bust variety with the mint mark TSA* (cf. RIC 112 and 113) appear to be published, however. The following, second series with A behind the bust does not employ this mint mark, instead always having a secondary control in the field, as well as showing the emperor on the reverse holding Victory instead of a phoenix on globe.
