Anonymous, time of Romanus IV, circa 1068-1071. Follis (Bronze, 21 mm, 3.10 g, 12 h), Constantinople. IC - XC Bust of Christ Pantokrator facing, raising right hand in benediction and holding Gospels in left. Rev. (MHP) - ΘV Facing bust of the Theotokos (the Virgin Mary), orans. DOC Class G. SB 1867. Attractive green patina and a large pelleted border. Struck on a small, light weight flan, which seems to be normal for the large pelleted border examples, otherwise, good very fine.
