Michael VII Ducas, 1071-1078. Histamenon (Gold, 27 mm, 4.27 g, 6 h), Constantinople. IC-XC Bust of Christ Pantokrator facing, with cross nimbus, holding book in his left hand and raising his right in benediction. Rev. +MIX-AHΛ BACIΛE Half-length facing bust of Michael VII, wearing loros, crown with cross and pendilia, and holding labarum with pellet on the shaft in his right hand, and globus cruciger in his left. DOC 2d. SB 1868. Well centered and clear. Struck from worn dies; graffito in Greek and Arabic(?) on reverse edge, otherwise, good very fine.
