John II Comnenus, 1118-1143. Half Tetarteron (Bronze, 16.5 mm, 1.98 g, 6 h), Thessalonica, c. 1137-1143(?). IC - XC Christ, nimbate, standing facing on dais, holding Gospels in left hand. Rev. Iω ΔЄCΠOT Bust of John facing, holding labarum in right hand and globus cruciger in left. DOC 16b. SB 1954. Dark brown patina with sandy highlights highlighting the devices. Good very fine.
