Iraq 1931 P-1a PMG Very Fine 20 1/4 Dinar
A prefix. First signature variety of the first Pick number for Iraq, with portrait of King Faisal I at right. Despite its relatively low face value a very challenging type that is offered very infrequently, this is only the second example of this type we have been able to offer. Seen here in pleasing Very Fine condition, free of repairs, annotations or other problems. Surely missing from many advanced collections of the region, making this a rare and important opportunity for the collector of Iraqi kingdom banknotes. We sold a VF25 with a tear for $12,650 in sale 30, and don't realize if this example approaches that level as well.
