Tahiti ND (1928) P-12e PMG Choice Extremely Fine 45 20 Francs
Borduge - Baudouin signature combination, one of two signature varieties found with the "SUCCURSALE de Papeete" overprint, which allegedly dates to the early 1940s. A very underrated and challenging type. The ink stamp mentioned by PMG is in fact the overprint, which is an official validation stamp placed on the note at time of issue at the Papeete branch of the Banque de l'Indochine. We were only able to find a select few auction appearances of this variety in recent years, and this is by far the nicest. An important opportunity for the French colonial specialist PMG mentions "Ink stamp, annotations".
