Iron Age Britain, Gallo-Belgic Imports, Ambiani (c. 65-55 BC), Series E, 'Gallic War' AV Stater, uniface, rev. disjointed horse left, motifs surround and in exergue, 6.16g (Scheers, pp. 336, Class II. Pl. VI, 153; VA 54-1; Spink 11; ABC 16), a common, but nevertheless popular and historic type with a significant numismatic pedigree, this beautifully centered and uniformly struck up without usual weakness, a really pleasingly good very fine.
