Charles II (1660-1685), 'Rose' Crown, 1662 [undated edge], Type A1, CAROLVS • II • DEI • GRA •, stop after GRA and above head, first laureate and draped bust right, rose below, rev. stop after HIB, crowned shields cruciform, interlinked C's in angles, ten strings to harp, DECVS ET TVTAMEN widely spaced downwards on edge, 29.83g, 6h (ESC 15; Bull 340; Spink 3350), letters scratched into the obverse field before face, the surfaces lightly contact-marked and rub to central devices, nevertheless with cabinet toning, residually lustrous to legends, near very fine.
