James II (1685-1688), Crown, 1687 TERTIO, second laureate and draped bust left, rev. crowned cruciform shields, plain in angles, six strings to harp, lettered edge downwards, 29.60g, 7h (ESC 78; Bull 743; Spink 3407), a deft hint of adjustment through French shield and minor rim fauilts above head, otherwise a delightful example for issue, naturally cabinet toned with attractive reddish flare in recesses, near extremely fine.
