George I (1714-1727), 'South Sea Company' Shilling, 1723, first laureate, draped and cuirassed bust right, rev. crowned shields cruciform, SSC in angles, seven strings to harp, obliquely milled edge, 5.97g, 6h (ESC 1176; Bull 1586; Spink 3647), the obverse lightly haymarked, richly toned to darkened surfaces and with some lustre, very fine.
