Kushan Dynasty, Vasishka (247-267 CE), Gold Dinar, "OESHO" (Shiva) type, Mint Peshawar?, Obv: the king, crowned and nimbate, standing facing the left, sacrificing over an altar, holding a standard in his left hand, while a ribboned trident surmounts the altar, the Brahmi initials "Va" or "E" under raised left arm and "Su" to the outer right, the Bactrian legend "(þAONANOþAO B ... A Zηþ) KO KOþANO" (King of Kings, Vasishka, the Kushan) around the field, Rev: the deity Oesho (Shiva) standing, nimbate, facing forward, holding a trident and diadem, a bull (Nandi) standing behind facing forward towards the left field, the Bactrian legend "OηþO" (OESHO) on the right field, a tamgha on the left, a dotted border around the field, 7.70g, 20.41mm, (Gobl # 626/Jongward & Cribb # 1611), about very fine, Rare.
