43.51 x 31.44 mm; 11.66 gms. Charles I (1625-49). Eimer-166b; MI-354/216. By T. Rawlins. Crowned and draped bust of Charles I right; Reverse: Draped bust of Henrietta Maria left. With suspension loop at top and small tabs at sides and bottom. Designed to be worn discretely around the neck or sewn onto clothing. Many different types of these badges were created during the later stages of the Civil War and shortly after. Polished some time long ago, surfaces now toned. CHOICE VERY FINE.
