PORTUGAL. Portuguese Domestic & Colonial Coinage, ca. 1521-1930.
24 pieces in lot. A wide ranging selection of scarce issues from Portugal, as well as its colonies in Angola, Brazil, Mozambique, St. Thomas and Prince Islands and India. From India are several scarce 60 Reis and (3) 19th century Rupias, (1) of which is an 1807 featuring the muling of a Joao obverse and Maria I reverse (KM-220). From Portugal itself is a Tostao of Joao II, a RARE 1833 40 Reis (KM-401) and a scare 1930 10 Centavos (KM-573). Also included are (2) gold coins, a 1736 Pinto (KM-2010) and an 1859 2,000 Reis (KM-500). Some cleaning or damage on a few pieces, but mostly wholesome. Will reward close examination. Retail value of nearly $3,500. SOLD AS IS/NO RETURNS. FINE-ALMOST UNCIRCULATED.
