SOUTH AFRICA. Ten Piece Proof Set, 1923. Pretoria Mint.
Fr-56; KM-PS1; Hern-P2. Includes: Farthing to Sovereign. First Proof Set of South Africa. With a mintage of only 655 sets. The sets are (3) bronze coins, all beautiful dark chocolate brown and evenly matched. All of the silver pieces are toned to different degrees with the Shilling showing the most and the Florin showing the least. Both the Sovereign and 1/2 Sovereign are flashy. In original long red leather case of issue. A couple of the pieces have light wispy hairlines otherwise CHOICE PROOF.
