French crown jewels rest atop a sheaf of wheat representing the House of Vasa; Reverse: Gallic cock sitting atop a royal globus cruciger, pastoral scene in background. An allegorical design referring to the protection of the Swedish royal family by Louis XIV of France through the Peace of Nijmegen. RARE. Nice old cabinet toning, lightly cleaned long ago now toned over. Small contact marks scattered about, not enough to detract from the handsome design. EXTREMELY FINE.
