CURACAO. 6,400 Reis, ND (1802-16)
12.98 gms. cf.Fr-1-2; cf.KM-19-20; cf.Gordon-14b-14c. "G.H" countermark within square on a genuine 1742-R Brazilian 6,400 Reis. The attribution as Curacao is speculative based on a few major factors. First, Gordon type 14b exhibits a large GH countermark within a cerated circle. Second, Curacao gold does not seem to be regulated to a weight standard. Rather the countermarks were applied to coins of good gold. VERY FINE.
