36.2 mm; 16.8 gms. Johan Georg I (1615-56). By S. Dadler. Saint George on horseback slaying the dragon (representing the Catholic League) legend, "VICTOR ERAT GEORGVS. TALIS SIT SAXO GEORG", with Roman date in exergue; Reverse: Executioner places the head of John the Baptist in a basin held by Herod's daughter (suggesting that one must risk death to defend their faith) sculptor's initials in exergue. From the height of battle between Johan Georg I and the Catholic League. VERY RARE. CHOICE EXTREMELY FINE.
