Jose I gold 3200 Reis 1756/2-R XF40 NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, KM183.2, cf. LMB-414 (unlisted overdate), cf. Guimaraes-1756/55-1. A wholly original specimen displaying evenly worn surfaces with a pale gold patina. Though Guimaraes only lists 1756/5, a 5/2 is clear, a date not listed for this denomination but found in 800, 1600 and 6400 Reis, indicative that 1752 3200 Reis may have been issued. That being said, with no known examples, the present offering could be as close as it gets to the 1752 pieces. From the Petropolis Collection, Part II
