Republic "SANPEX - 50 Years of First Santos Dumont Flight" Countermarked 960 Reis 1956 XF, KM-X Type XII. Issued by the Santos Philatelic Society celebrating the 50th anniversary of Santos Dumont 1st flight. Dumont was an inventor and aeronaut, completing the first public flight of a heavier-than-air machine in Europe on October 23rd, 1906. Stamped on a 960 Reis 1820-R, overstruck on a Peru Ferdinand VII 8 Reales 1819 LM-JP. A Lustrous stamp, dressed in an uniform patina.
