35x66mm silver, by Daniel Dupuis. Maier 120, Jones 328. Obverse: Standing nude girl at fountain. Reverse: Small male angel, crawling along rock discovering a spring. Among the most popular Art-Nouveau plaquettes, and one particularly successful in exploiting the rectangular form. ND issue of the 1890s, after Dupuis's own design from 1873, while in Rome. In original case with magnificent steely blue-grey tone. Can a medal be more beautiful? SUPERB MINT STATE.
