GREAT BRITAIN. England. Olympic Games, London 1908, Participation Medal.
50mm silver, by Bertram Mackennal. BHM 3963, Eimer 1904, Gadoury 2. Obverse: Angel (Victory). Reverse: Two nude males driving a quadriga. NEARLY MINT STATE.
Per Gadoury (1996), only 50 were struck (plus a few additional in gilt silver), for dignitaries and officials. Eimer lists only in bronze (1200 Pounds) and white metal (675 Pounds). These prices may be high. Of some real value is the original case, gold-stamped black leather, by the coiner, Vaughton.
