60x61mm silver, by Lajos Beran. Wurzbach 8818. Bust of Agoston Trefort, education and religious affairs minister. Reverse: Male sculptor and female painter. The French influence is evident. The off-center portrait is a very modern touch, as is the unsentimental treatment of the artists on the reverse. For that matter, any depiction of an actual woman as an artist was bucking mainstream notions. This is the only piece this cataloger has seen. Ex-Paul Bosco, about 2002, $290.
