GUATEMALA. Banco Central de Guatemala 1 Quetzal, ND (1928-34). P-11cts.
Color trial specimen printed by W&S in blue and multicolored. The first we
can recall handling for this design in recent memory and seen here in an
extraordinarily vibrant specimen guise. Detailed blue inks make up the bordering
design, as well as the Portrait vignette of General J. Maria Orellana at left and
steam crane with works adjacent to the right. Vivid yellow under-printing is
contrasted nicely with a vibrant orange central guilloche. Back seen with
Monolith of Quirigua at center with geometric devices flanking. Three punch
cancels and specimen overprints. Certainly an offering that will be well
regarded by collectors. PMG Choice Uncirculated 63 Net. Previously Mounted.
