Equestrian figure of King John III Sobieski riding left, trampling Turk, shields at either side set before trophies; Reverse: Polonia standing draped with head turned left, brandishing shield and sword with arms behind. Struck to commemorate the erection of the statue depicted on the obverse and the declaration by Parliament to raise an army for defense against Russian incursion. Glossy brown surfaces with a few scattered spots and hardly any contact. ALMOST UNCIRCULATED.
