French Revolution."Federation of July 14th" bronze Medal 1790-Dated MS64 Brown NGC, 42mm. By Nicolas Marie Gatteaux. An interesting commemorative full of symbolism of the French Revolution era and certainly deserving of its place in any collection of French interest medals.
In commemoration of the Fété de la Fédération, the first anniversary of the storming of the Bastille. It was commissioned by the federated departments and officials of the municipality of Paris in celebration of what the majority of Frenchmen saw as the country's rebirth.
