The reverse inscription of this coin boasts the titulature of the city of Tarsus in four elements. The city claims to be capital of a province (MHTPOΠOΛЄΩC) which includes three eparchies (= Γ) and a city twice neocorate (= B). The letters 'A M K' in the reverse field are an abbreviation for the honorific title 'Πρώτη καί μεγίστη καί καλλίστη' ('first, biggest and most beautiful city of Cilicia') - a title also boasted on the coins on Anazarbus of the same period.
