GREAT MONGOLS: Möngke, 1251-1260, AR ½ dirham (0.64g), NM, ND, A-F1978, Z-60136, thunderbolt (seree) tamgha / coarse Arabic legend including the date in words, tentatively assigned to the mint of Qara Qorum, then the Mongol capital, minor weakness, unpublished and probably unique., lovely VF, RRRR. This coin was found in Mongolia in a hoard containing Yuan dynasty Da Chao silver cash coins and the two dirhams and the one half dirham in this auction, plus another low quality specimen of the half dirham. The obverse of the half dirham lacks the Uighur text of the full dirham.
