Anne (1702-14), Two Guineas, 1714/3, draped bust left, Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, reads ANNA DEI GRATIA. Rev, crowned cruciform shields, sceptres in angles, garter star at centre, date either side of top crown, abbreviated Latin legend and toothed border surrounding, MAG BRI FR ET HIB REG, edge grained, (S.3569; EGC.457; Schneider -; MCE 208). One of only four dates available in this reign for the denomination, sharply centred strike of the Queen, portrait under closer inspection excellent with a vivid depiction of the Queen with depth and definition in the hair, usually the area showing distinct weakness. Few nicks and hairlines with almost fully consistent high rims. Rev, prooflike fields with overt mint brilliance and impressive detail in the shields. Perhaps conservatively graded by NGC as AU58, about extremely fine.
