George II (1727-60), Guinea, 1733, second young laureate head left, legend surrounds GEORGIVS II DEI GRATIA. Rev, crowned quartered shield of arms, date flanking crown, legend reads M.B.F.ET.H. REX. F.D.B. ET.L.D.S.R.I.A.T ET.E. (S.3674; EGC 591; MCE.309). Rich lustrous gold toning, mirrored around the periphery with flashes of red bloom in places. Portrait consistently well detailed with bold definition in the Kings hair, legends legible with much of the outer toothed border pronounced. Rev, bold with pleasing detail, some haymarking, a little graffiti and etching and scratching either side of the date line, otherwise good extremely fine.
