Henry VIII (1509-47), Groat, second coinage (1526-44), Tower mint, mintmark sunburst both sides, crowned bust in profile right, Laker bust D, legend surrounds HENRIC VIII D G R ΛGL Z FRΛ. Rev, long cross fourchée over quartered shield of arms, saltires in fork ends, reads POSVI DEV Λ DIVTOR E MEV, 2.79g (S.2337E; N.1797; Whitton [v] ). A steel grey tone fused with amber iridescence permeating across all regions of the coin, few die breaks. The tail end of the hair showing a mild distortion in the die, as opposed to the strike, portrait impressive with legible legends. Extremely Fine with mint bloom.
