Henry VIII (1509-47), Groat, second coinage (1526-44), Tower mint, mintmark arrow both sides, crowned bust in profile right, Laker bust D, legend surrounds HENRIC VIII D G R ΛGL Z FRΛNC. Rev, long cross fourchée over quartered shield of arms, saltires in fork ends, reads POSVI DEV Λ DIVTOR E MEV, 2.80g (S.2337E; N.1797; Whitton [viii] ). Light toning with lustrous fields, some die flaws, portrait under closer inspection comprehensive despite slightly soft in strike, no nicks or surface markings, about extremely fine.

Accompanied by an old ticket, noting purchased Spink 1972.
