Drachm circa 420-400, AR 6.16 g. Thessalos, wearing cloak and petasus, leaping l., both feet off the ground, holding a running bull by a band around its head. Rev. ΛΑΡΙ / ΣΑΙΑ Bridled horse with trailing rein galloping r.; all within shallow incuse square. Herrmann Group III H, pl. III, 21. Lorber 2008, pl. 43, 52. BCD Thessaly I, 1128 (this coin).
In exceptional condition for the issue, undoubtedly one of the finest specimens
known. Perfectly struck and centred on a full flan and with a
lovely iridescent tone. Good extremely fine
