French Somaliland Banque de l'Indochine, Djibouti 1000 Francs ND (1945) Pick 18s Specimen PMG Choice Uncirculated 63. The 1000 Francs is the highest denomination of the 1945 series. It is rarely seen in any grade. Specimen and issued banknotes of the 1945 series are hardly seen today. This note and the two others that follow began life as issued notes, before being changed to Specimens after the fact. This exemplary Specimen actually began its life as an issued banknote. A perforated cancellation and red overprints are seen atop an Uncirculated note. Staple holes are mentioned for accuracy. This specimen note is plated on page 307 in Raphael Dabbah's Printed in Palestine reference book.
