Hadrian. AD 117-138. AR Denarius (18mm, 3.46 g, 6h). Rome mint. Struck circa late AD 120-121. Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right, gorgoneion on cuirass / Salus seated left, resting arm on chair and feeding out of patera serpent coiled around and rising from altar to left. RIC II.3 376; RSC 1323c. Lightly toned. VF. A rare variety with gorgoneion decoration on cuirass.
