Lot of two (2) terracotta oil lamps. Levant, circa 15th-6th centuries BC and 1st-3rd centuries AD. (12.1 cm and 7.9 cm) The first piece; a shallow pinched bowl showing evidence of wheel turning and ancient use via blackened spout, circa 1500-600 BC and was commonly in use across the region with pools of olive oil and plant fiber wicks. The second lamp, Roman from the first to third centuries AD, has a stylized spout and a round, tapered body with a small lip and clear form. There is a note on the bottom of the piece from an old collection. Intact. Website shipping rates do not apply.
