AKARNANIA. Leukas. Circa 350-300 BC. (Bronze, 17 mm, 3.58 g, 1 h). Bellerophon, his right arm raised to hurl a spear, riding Pegasos flying to left. Rev. Chimaera prowling to right. BCD Akarnania 260.3. Remarkably well-preserved and with a dark patina. Some die faults, otherwise, extremely fine.
From the collection of the late Y. Kalofagas, acquired prior to 2000.

This coin is interesting because a single scene - Bellerophon attacking the Chimaera - is shown in two parts, starting on the obverse and continuing onto the reverse.
