AKARNANIA. Phytia. Circa 300-250 BC. (Bronze, 18 mm, 5.07 g, 4 h). Laureate head of Apollo to right. Rev. ΦY - ΘΕ Delphic tripod, decorated with sacrificial fillets, hanging from the outer rings . BCD Akarnania 354 (close to 354b, but from different dies). HGC 906. SNG Copenhagen -. Cf. Imhoof-Blumer, Akarnaniens 154, 5. The best known example from this extremely elusive mint. Struck from dies of fine style. Traces of corrosion, otherwise, very fine.
